TELETEL was selected by Thales Alenia Space UK for the design, development and delivery of two Mains Power Distribution Unit (MPDU) EGSE, for the FLuorescence EXplorer (FLEX) satellite of the European Space Agency (ESA). The FLEX mission will provide global maps of vegetation fluorescence that can reflect photosynthetic activity and plant health and stress; it is expected to be launched in 2024.

The MPDU is a key element of the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used in the ground testing of the FLEX Satellite. The purpose of the MPDU is to distribute mains power to the various SCOE racks by providing galvanic isolation and protecting both the facility supply and the SCOE racks or the Unit Under Test (UUT) from noise or other unwanted signals or parasites.

The two FLEX MPDU sets have been delivered to TAS-UK in January 2022 and are based on the iSAFT-MITU product line, which supports 1, 3, 5, 32 kVA output power (Single Phase and Three Phase), customizable up to 50kVA output power according to customer and application requirements.
